Mark is right you are going to need to be very patient and you will need to cross every T and dot every I.  I know myself that section 8 housing is always overloaded but still put in a application. Also check into Subsidized apartments they go by your income if that is 1 of your problems. I don't know if these are in Florida but here is there website and they might be able to help a lil but there are some other kinds of apartments like this. www.accessiblespace.org . Check to see if Florida has CBA ( community based alternatives ) they help w/ prescriptions and modifications and other thi! ngs. It's easier and faster to get on while you are in a nursing home so try to get it before you get out. Look into Home Health Agencies for Providers and Nurses. I wish you all the prayers, luck, and patience its going to take, but it is so worth the independence you do get back. Well, call it an itch, call it craziness but I'm longing to be out in the world again but need advice - is it worth attempting? Where should I begin my journey?    I live in rural North Florida near Jacksonville and know that Sec 8 housing there is backlogged, but maybe I can try? Wipe those gloomy thoughts from your mind and focus on what's going right instead. Havingf a positive outlook can change the outcome in so many ways.
