Hi,
I have been taking Botox
injections in my legs for the past 5 years. I get them below the knees and
they locate the areas to inject with a EMG machine. When I began the shots
they also tried dyna-splints on my legs - they thought they would
hold my legs straight and slow the curve in my left foot. The splint
was causing more pain so I stopped them.
I get the shot as often as
I can which is ever 3 months and I get the maximum dose which equals out to 14
shots total per session. To really help the bad spasm the have to go to
the deep muscle and sometimes it is next to the bone and that does cause a
little bleeding, but I do bruise. My left foot is turned so bad the doctor
will shoot my ankle and instep and it will release within hours. The bad
part of all of this is it just won't last long enough. Within 6-8 weeks it
is all back the same way.
I also take Neurotin 600 mg
3x a day, robaxin 500mg. every 4 hrs, pain patches, and a bag full of
others.
Hope this answers some of
your questions.
