She should be fired. Someone with that little concern or compassion has no place in caring for others.

I shudder at the thought of something like that happening to anyone.
Someone was more careless than they should have been and violated the oath they
swore to when becoming
a real nurse.  I could see/understand that happening with an aide or
attendent, but not a nurse.
An incident like that should have been duly noted and recorded.  I  don't
know if I could ever personally face someone the next day if that were to happen
to me.  I don't know if I could face someone who I did that too as  well.

Some people take their responsibility more seriously than others, but you
know that already.

I realize that errors and mistakes can happen, but to leave, only
complicates a dangerous situation. You are most fortunate that something more serious
didn't occur.
