Since were on the subject of bowel programs and figured I would tell all of you about my little experiment.  As I mentioned before in past posts, I do not use suppositories or digital stimulation just a couple rubs of some toilet paper on my rectum to help stimulate things along if I need to.

As soon as I was injured my problem with bowel movements was everything always been to loose and going every time I was moved.  My doctor prescribed Metamucil or Citracel to try to firm things up because everything was so loose.  I was on Citracel until November of 2004 and I took myself off of it because it was not working.  After I quit taking Citracel I started to have firmer stools and a lot less accidents in my chair and the bed.  Every now and then I would still have accidents in my chair and could not figure out why.  Well, my wife figured out that every time I had hot Chinese food I would get diarrhea.  We did a little past and sure enough I got diarrhea so I quit eating hot Chinese food.  I quit drinking for my new year's resolution and I have not had any alcohol since.

I noticed sometime around the end of January that my stools were getting firmer and instead of having a bowel movement everyday and sometimes twice a day I was starting to go every 36 hours or more.  This cycle would happen for maybe two or three bowel movements and then it would be three days all the way up to seven days without a bowel movement.  When I finally did go I would start going a couple of times a day for a couple days and then start my cycle all over again.  Even though I was going I did not think I was going expelling enough for what I was eating.  Example; A week ago this past Monday I had a medium-size bowel movement in the morning and besides passing some gas the other days I did not go again until last Thursday morning with another medium-size bowel movement.  I was starting to get concerned so we ordered hot Chinese food which normally makes me go the next day but nothing happened. Monday morning I had all the urges to go but nothing was happening except for me heating up and starting to sweat which, I only do when I have to urinate.  After close to 1.5 hours of pushing on my stomach and laying the back down its started to come out and it was massive.  I never had trouble going so I was getting concerned that I might be getting blocked up so I decided to try an experiment.

Once I got up into my chair Monday morning I took some Citracel and for supper I had hot Chinese leftovers and some more Citracel.  Tuesday morning I took some more Citracel and approximately 2 PM my stomach started to rumble and jump around.  I urinated at about 2:30 PM and did a weight shift.  While I was leaning back in my chair I felt a small chill run through my body and I knew something was wrong.  When I put myself down I could smell myself and I kept on having a couple more chills.  The only time I have chills is one I need to urinate or I'm taking a dump in my pants.  I called my night caregiver to come after she was done with school which was close to 6 PM.  I could go into some detail but to save everybody the grossness let's just say after going a few more times last night and again this morning I think I'm empty.  I got my desired results but just a little too early in the day.
