So I was not poor enough to qualify for a lot although Voc Rehab did pay 4,600 towards helping with my bath remodeling after 3 years of bed baths.and they helped me with a remote door opener that goes out to my garage. Im in st. louis and Dan is to. Ive lived here 26 years, first as a walking man , now as a quad. Heat and humidity is bad here, but cost of living is reasonable. Services are sometimes hard to access but are there if you pursue through the proper channels. Im getting free water therapy twice a week, free counseling, free majic bullets, cathe tubes, got a 25,000 accessible bathroom for 1200, free shower chair, free van adaptions. I even had a guy come and get me every mon and take me anywhere I wanted in St. louis for free. Id hit casinos, zoo, car museum, out to eat, ballgame...I called him my pay a friend.Now I drive and dont need him anymore. I went back to school using a pell grant for free. Could of got food stamps but dont need them. Voc Rehab is a hassle but the pell grants have no strings attached other than pass what u agree to take. So......whatever you need its here...but just a hint.... the broker you are the better, the worse shape you appear the faster youll move up on waiting lists.
