I have DSL and winXP.  I'm looking at routers and wi-fi cards now.  I thank you for the tip on getting the 20gig hard drive.

wireless. You'll need cable/dsl and a router. Oh, a cd/dvd burner is
essential. If you opt for a used laptop, you'll need win98 se or higher and
a wi-fi card. It is called a pcmcia card and plugs into a slot on the
computer. It's pretty easy to get going. Get at least a 20 gig hard drive -
