I have my flap surgery coming in the next couple of weeks.  It isn't scheduled yet but the office said only a couple of weeks.  Good luck with yours.  My only worry is how I'm gonna get all this hair washed. LOL!!   It's really long because I want to donate it but I'm not ready to cut it yet.  The doc said 2 weeks in the hospital tops then home in bed for another 2.  I think I have it figured out when I get home.  I'm gonna get my friend to put a trash can at the end of my bed, scoot up to the end, raise the bed, put clear water in a bucket and hope I don't get soaked.   I'm also concerned about healing since I have been dealing with this sore pushing a year and it hasn't healed yet.  I've tried just about every treatment and this is my last resort if I want to get back to school in the fall semester.  If I take off one semester, it sets me back a year and I absolutely need to get back so I can get a job and start chipping away at my debt.   Good luck with your surgery.  I hope it goes smoothly.  I know you have had a lot of medical problems in the last few years so lets hope this is the last one you have to deal with.   Stacy ----- Original Message ----- From: Lori Michaelson To: Quad Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 3:42 PM Subject: [QUAD-L] SURGERY Is there anyone scheduled for any type of surgery in the next two weeks?   I am going in next Wednesday [May 10th] to have my bladder stones removed.  Or my rocks ... since they are so huge.  It is an outpatient procedure so I hope everything goes smoothly.  The only thing that I am worried about is that my blood pressure will skyrocket and they won't be able to control it without stopping the surgery.   I have a positive outlook and that would be the 'worst case scenario.'  I really wanted to have a spinal but, unfortunately, I am not a candidate because my shunt goes into my lung cavity and they are afraid that the medicine could quickly swish up my spine and go through my shunt ... stopping my breathing.   So my only other option is to go under general anesthesia.  The surgery itself is supposed to take about two hours [give or take] and be in recovery for about an hour.   So I was just wondering if there are any of you out there who were scheduled for any type of surgery with general anesthesia fairly soon?   I just can't wait until it is ALL over.  That means my recovery period the week afterward.  It is expected that I will see blood and blood clots in my urine for one to two weeks after surgery.  But I will be on antibiotics of course.   Here goes nothing,   Lori C4/5 Complete Tucson, AZ AGE - 41
