I have had colonics since my injury many times. I went to a
"professional" who did what is called colon therapy, which is basically a
big enema, lol. I have sensation and also a lot of pain in my abdomen, so
through my many exhaustive searches for pain relief, colon therapy.
I never got dysreflexia and although it didn't help with the burning pain in my
gut, it did help relieve pressure. I think colonics are a really good idea
to have once a month or once every six months just to give the body a good
cleansing. The hardest part is finding a person who has a table low enough
to be able to get transferred over on to the table to have the colonics.
It's been many years since I have had a colonic, but I would definitely
recommend it.
