Sorry for the late response... I have a baclofen pump, had the surgery last
year. I actually got it for pain relief, to see if it would help my severe
nerve pain and so that I would not have to take oral baclofen since I have
burning pain in my abdomen and always suspected oral baclofen could be the cause
or part of the cause. I have a local anesthetic, bupivacaine, also in the
pump with the baclofen to try and get pain relief, but I'm almost at the maximum
dosage and it has not helped at all.
So far I don't regret getting the pump, especially if I eventually get pain relief from some medication in it. It has been good for my spasms as well. The surgery itself went well, but I ended up getting spinal meningitis from the surgery three weeks later and ended up in the hospital for three days and on a pic line IV for three weeks at home afterwards. Everything has went smoothly since then, except for not getting pain relief like I had hoped. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Corie
