Absolutely! We downloaded it about two years ago or so. It really comes in handy when we are interested in a house in another state and want to look at what the area looks like, how the house sits on the particular street or property, etc. etc. etc..
The data we have is three years old but that is okay. The only fault with Google Earth [and we have written to them to complain] is that sometimes an address can be three or four or five houses OFF. With today's technology they should be able to be more precise with the location. Especially pointing out a house in certain neighborhoods that have been there for awhile.
All we got was a "pat answer" response from them so I guess they are not too concerned. It is a free download [unless one once updated versions] so, yeah, we have used it a lot!!!
Our neighborhood is there but you will not find our house if you type in our address. That is because our neighborhood is only six years old and the street was not yet available to Google Earth at that time. To find my house I have had to type in a street south of us and use the mouse to find our neighborhood.
It will also not show houses in very small towns. It will only show the streets.
Further, my geography is pretty poor so it gives me a great opportunity to refresh my grade school and high school knowledge that I have forgotten. All in all, I love it!!!

Have you guys played with Google Earth?
You can view your house from a satellite. Or use it for directions like Mapquest, etc.
You can tilt your view, etcÂ….Very cool. Not all views are new, my house image looks to be about year old.
I just used it to find paths in neighboring developments.
