That's awesome your family went to those measures for you to be there, it shows how much they care.

I can't imagine flying for more than a couple of hours, I flew since my sci and it's no easy feat.

I had 2 virtual trips this year. They were both pretty fun for me.

Last week was the 2006 Rare Neuroimmunologic Disorders Symposium in Baltimore. It was co-sponsored by The Transverse Myelitis Association (which I am a part of) and The Johns Hopkins Project Restore. We had hoped to have it in Seattle again so I could attend but it would have added to the cost. We managed to do the next best thing and setup a live Internet feed for me. I was really cool watching live and being able to talk via webcam with a few people. I even asked one of the doctors a question during a q&a. Some of you will really enjoy the new research going on. I'll have the videos on our web site soon after the DVDs are ready.

The other one was our family reunion in Kona, Hawaii. It was for the descendents of my great, great grandfather. I had setup the web site where most of us second cousins got in contact with each other, and also the did the logo for the t-shirts. They really wanted me to be included. One cousin setup 2 network cameras and a video camera camera connected to a slingbox. It was neat to watch the live band and some of the cousin's dance the hula.
