In Tucson, Arizona, the temperature usually drops 20 to 30° overnight [depending]. We had a very, very hot June but July has stayed below 100° every day 98% of the time. I began to keep a diary of temperatures. So overnight it drops in the mid-70s or so.
Also, unlike the states with any humidity at all... in the desert you can really FEEL the difference in temperature overnight. Humid summer areas linger both day and night and, living in upstate New York for 35 years of my life, I remember those very humid times that were hard to get away from. Although, I would take that over cold any day!
We have two ceiling fans here in our home. One in a very large living room and one in our 15 x 16 foot bedroom. Most all evening when I am in there reading from 7 to 10 p.m. ..... I do not want the ceiling fan on over me at all. However, overnight I have always been in the habit [since my injury] to cover my head with a sheet and a blanket and another blanket over my hips and legs.
So overnight... we have the ceiling fan going all overnight long and I find out that by the middle of the night I need that air circulation! And most times in the morning as well.
When I lived in upstate New York, to be able to afford the electricity in the wintertime, we could not turn the thermostat above 72°. Here, year round, we set our thermostat at 78 degrees. After almost 6 years of living in an area of no temperature below 78° now ... I can't imagine going back to anything colder. **SHIVER**
I often even need a hot drink in the evening to warm up and relax here in Tucson, Arizona!

Funny, in the Arizona desert where it drops to 95 at night, and one pays dearly when the afternoons reach 118, a ceiling fan is a life saver. I run all sorts of fans all over the house and leave the thermostat set a little higher. Dead still air gives ME the creeps - if I was confined in a warm place with no moving air - I'd go crazy.

I can pour sweat relentlessly from pain.Always above the break. I don't feel the pain but my body reacts to it by sweating at first. Aftewr awhile it affects my kidneys and my urine becomes dark. As fgar as temps go, I don't mind temps in the low 90's. Humidity feels good. My skin seems to be enjoying it. Cold bothers me when it starts bringing my core temp down. It becomes painfull and I actuyally feel the pain. If I get too chilled it can take a day to feel "normal" again.
I use to know a quad that was the exact opposite. He loved winmter and hated hot humid weather. spent the entire summer in his appartment with the AC set on 68. He died of pneumonia about 6 years ago.
I do turn on the AC so people around me feel a bit more comfortable but I never set it below 78.
I have times when I'm so sensative even a ceiling fan feels like waves of intense cold. Most folks don't want to hear about.

b4 my injury I was also sensitive to heat; breaking a sweat at the drop of a hat. During swimpractice I would get hot and nauseated in a warm pool during a hard set. It is a feeling of being trapped in a warm, breezeless room, exacerbated by no perspiration and no way to abate the problem
I got a new hvac system at home and had an inline air purification system installed and run the fan 24/7 at 25% speed.
Do most or all of you guys not perspire and have major sensitivity to adverse ambient temperature?

I have no idea how you are able to handle it down here without AC. If mine goes out, I end up having to go to the mall for the entire day. Billy (new Tampa region)
