Once again I haven't had a chance to look at all of the responses, but I thought I would share my bout with spasms.
I currently take the following medication for spasms alone on a daily basis.
75 mg dantrolene
80 mg baclofen
7.5 mg diazepam (Valium)
When I was first being rehabilitated, my doctor told me never to go over 10 mg extra a week when upping the dosage. Baclofen, in the oral form, was not nearly as effective as Valium or dantrolene. Right now I have my spasms under control and still have them whenever I go to bed or early in the morning. I do sometimes have some in my chair, but they are not nearly as violent as they were in my early years of dealing with SCI.
One interesting note, I inquired about the baclofen pump with my previous Dr., a very highly regarded spinal cord specialist, and he did not want me to get one if I was able to maintain my spasms with oral medication. He told me, don't know if it's exactly right, that the baclofen pump should only be used on individuals who are unable to control their spasms what he referred to as "modest" levels of anti-spasmodic oral drugs. (This is not my opinion, but only what my doctor, once again a very highly regarded and sought after spinal cord specialist, told me. I am sure there are a myriad of other doctors that have differing opinions.
Regardless, I am so glad your surgery worked out and you are happy with the results little quad.

Been a quad for over 30 years. Now all of a sudden i have non stop spasms that take only 20 minutes off at the most and 1 hour at night.
Went to a new Dr. who says he dosent know why they are happening all of a sudden. I had some spasms before of course but NOT this constant and severe
Dr. gave me 5 mg of Bacofan to take.
I just took one and see no difference in them at all.
I wanna finally get some type of sleep tonight or i will go nuts
Should I not take the half of pill and take the would 10 mg tonight.
Im really at wits end and desperate.
[Please tell me these spasms wont last forever and ruin my life.
Thanks
