All I can say is every time I have spent time in the hospital, I have been terribly disappointed. I'm sure all of us have horror stories. My greatest disappointment is that both doctors and nurses really don't know how to address the daily needs of quadriplegia or appreciate the consequences of their inaction. THEREFORE we remain our own best advocates. Always. Never assume someone will take care of everything. We must always ask questions, insist on quality, and direct those that need it, whether it is a doctor or nurse or someone else.
