One could speculate, until the cows came home, and still would be guessing about your UTI.

Consider this... as your bladder shrinks, it can become more prone to infection then when the bladder is at full size.

Think of your bladder as a very large swimming pool. Granted, you need more chemicals to keep the water clear and clean, but it will also take longer for the water to become populated with bacteria and mold.

Smaller swimming pools are much more difficult to maintain just because of their size and the amount of water they hold.  Small pools, get dirty faster and produce more bacteria and that requires more and often cleaning and maintenance.

When your bladder was the size of a large softball, it could maintain bacteria for a much longer period, before producing those painful effects.

When your bladder shrinks to the size of a walnut... it really doesn't take a lot of bacteria to cause problems.

In the meantime..... take your meds and get better!

I just obtained another uti.
I believe the uti's are coming from not emptying my bladder all the way.

I use a condom catheter all the time but i straight cath every morning and night to completely empty my bladder.
Well, last friday and monday night my aide them nights had a broken finger and i did not get the bladder empty.
Now, Thursday/Friday, i have a uti.

Does anyone think this would cause it?
Or is it just circumstances?

Thanks,
Derrick C-5
