We must elect candidates (of any political party) who will support pro-cures legislation in Congress. To this end, SCAN has sent questionnaires and followed up with phone calls to all the challengers in the key congressional races to ascertain their positions. Many replies have been received and we are continuing to work the phones to add to our list. We have also posted the voting records of all incumbents in Congress, state-by-state on HR 810, the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act. Please go to  www.stemcellaction.org and click on the “Voter ScoreCard” icon (or the map link) to check out your state.  This is a work in progress and here’s how you can help:  1-  Send a letter to friends and family (through the web site – sample provided) to ask them to check out races in their state and vote pro-cures in November. 2-  Ask them to enroll as a SCAN member - no charge – so that we can continue to keep them updated. 3- If you have information on any of the candidates with a “??” next to their names, please let me know both the information and its source at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. Or if you live in a district with a close race not included in our list, call the challenger’s campaign office and ask for their position on stem cell research and email the answer to me or Dan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), including the name of the person who gave you the info and we’ll post it. Please enlist in our army of volunteers by making these calls and gathering this information. 4- Get the word out!  Please try to arrange links on other websites, blogs, discussion groups, etc. to the Voter ScoreCard page. 5- We’ve had to purchase technical help with the website and would like to buy some advertising as well. If you can help us with a donation, this would be an ideal time. (Donations are not tax-deductible because a change in the law has resulted in a change in our status as a 501(c)(3 organization.)
