Also, S.A.D. can be
effectively treated using full-spectrum lighting a few hours/day. Check
with a lighting store. Bulbs are not expensive and fixtures aren't
either.

Keeping the mind busy and active. Start a telephone group thru your
community or church or health center. You might even get paid for doing
this. Start developing a list of people who are shut-in and call them
once a day or twice a week and just make sure that they are ok. If you
don't get an answer, you have an emergency number to call.
This could develop into a major business if done right.

one of those lights last year. I think it works...? It's not
like taking some sort of happy pill and getting a charge, but it
helps. Some dietary stuff is supposed to help. Fish oil, among
others. The darkness IS here in Seattle now. The tough thing is
exercise. I need to get one of those hand cycle things, at least, if I
don't feel like going outside so much.
Any other tricks you guys
have for for keeping spirits up during these dark months (besides drugs and
alcohol, which I know the effects of!)???
