GREAT POEM.

My ex-wife and I use to have a housefull during the holidays.
As a Sgt, I always had fellow airmen who were alone over as members of
the family.
Our home cooked meals were better than the chow halls, and our duplex
suddenly felt like a home.

It is really nice of you to do this. When I was a young soldier I really
appreciated it when the families took us in for the holiday meals. I still
remember my battalion commander inviting three of his sergeants over to his
family's house for Thanksgiving. I just happened to be one of those three.
Being alone in the barracks over the holidays is one of the most depressing
time periods I can recall. This will be my sister-in-law and brothers first
time hosting a holiday meal, so if it goes I might contact MacDill Air Force
Base and see if there are any young soldiers, Marines, or airman that might
be interested in coming out for Christmas.

Beautiful!! I am having 3 young Marines here for Thanksgiving dinner, they
are too far from home to enjoy the holiday with their families. Yes,
remember our young men and women serving our country!
