I agree with you 100%. I have a friend that thought this very same battle with the VA and I could not comprehend why he didn't go out and spend $150, especially since he definitely had the money. Anyway, he felt he was entitled to medical equipment which was necessary to prevent pressure ulcers as well as maintain the help of his PCA (wife). After a long battle, he did end up getting a pretty decent air mattress. Even though I am in the same predicament as him, I have not wage this battle yet, but I am planning on it, considering I already have my own mattress. It'll be great to have a backup, in case my already used mattress developed a problem.

She replied that the rules were made by lawyers. Why are lawyers running medical programs?
