It seems like there are a lot of tricks we all employ in all aspects of our lives. It isn't as though we represent a large portion of anyone's target group when they think up a new product. I think using a sheer stocking for the remotes is pretty slick, (That is really an environmental control unit) extra long chains on lamp lights, mounting the dresser to the wall, cut off the legs it is now at the right height and I won't bump it with my foot like that again! and knots in each end of a short cord make a better drawer pull. Always wear jogging pants to the doctors. Doctors don't always have great personalities, so don't get upset unless they are stupid. Always suck up to the customer support people when you call to complain since they send you free stuff. When the nurse says, "this might hurt a little" it will hurt like hell. When you're shaking all over and loosing consciousness, you're having a siezure not an increase in spasticity. A sore is organ damage and can kill you! . Treat it with care. Get the very best wheelchair they will pay for because they won't pay for the best chair. Don't drink in public, people will think we are all drunks. If you have little plates that ur heels rest on, get someone to make plates the size of your feet and bolt them to the little plates, this will protect your feet when you turn too tight and you will. Broken feet and toes cause autonomic dysreflexia and most quads die of dysreflexia. If you can get an overhead lift, great! You still need a hoyer lift because it is MOBILE. You can't take an overhead lift on a trip. Uncontrolled anger will hurt you, learn to laugh. Its not much of a life if you never do any living, try to achieve something and be happy. I'm pretty certain most of us don't get the same care that politicians and rich people get, so we should try to approach healthcare smarter, or go into politics. I hope that is any help. john

Thanks....Amy i've found that sheet straps make good leg bag holders. that does away with the rubber that can twist and pinch the skin. diane ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
