You are most right John.  Teaching takes time and you always want a  sterile 
environment when doing any invasive procedure.  Washing in diluted  bleach and 
rinsing helps those odds and prevents the transmittal of both colds,  flu and 
viruses.

I do realize that some  people take stupidity to an artform, but most people 
can learn to replace a  catheter. The damage a clogged catheter can cause is 
far to great to let it  go. I've taught numerous aids to catheterize me over 
the years. I'm around the  aids more and my system is more accustomed to there 
germs, while I've seen  nurses that can't do sterile technique to save there 
lives and the lord only  knows where they slopped around before coming  to see 
me.
