The acidophilus that is in yogurt is what is good- especially when you're
pushing lots of antibiotics. The idea is to replace the bad bacteria with
the good bacteria we need to digest and prevent candida (yeast infections)
from growing. The problem with yogurt is all the sugar! Sugar just
encourages the bad bacteria and nasty yeast infections. You can get the
"pro-biotics" in capsules (in the fridge at the supplement store) that
include other cultures besides acidophilus. I never take antibiotics
without them.

ps pomeganate tea is soooo good!

I had the mitrofinoff 15 years ago this year (wow its been that long since
my injury). Those first few years were riddled with infections and lots of
incontinence. They have decreased significantly. I went through a lot of
different ways to combat all the problems including boosting my immune
system and naturopathic stuff- actually going to the naturopath and doing
what they told me to do. I don't know exactly why things are better for me
now. Maybe my body just needed time to acclimate...? I have not had an
infection for over a year and back a few years ago, when I would be
symptomatic, nothing would show up on the culture but I would still take the
antibiotics to help with the symptoms.. I have lately learned to wait it
out when I start having symptoms and it will pass. Now, I don't really do
anything. I drink alcohol, coffee (lately) and smoke on occasion. I just
moderate it with lots of herbal tea and other fluids with no sugar when I'm
done with all the debauchery.

Besides cranberry in almost any form, pomegranate is also know to have
healing properties. Yogurt too.
