It is like group insanity where everyone blames each other with pauses of love and understanding with lots of compassion and tears before loosing it all again. Kind of like Virginia Wolfe meets Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loomps go cannibal. I took a long time coming to terms with that episode and a longer time making peace with it. Always thought it would make a good play if it can be staged without too many scene changes. Good luck. john -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Mon, 19 Feb 2007 11:11 PM Subject: [QUAD-L] An Actress's Request
In a message dated 2/19/2007 1:03:42 P.M. Central Standard Time, SCI Injury writes: Dear Ms. Rauen, This email might seem a bit odd and, though I truly hope not, even possibly inappropriate, but please know I write in the spirit of utmost respect. I am a Chicago actress and I am beginning rehearsal for a new play by a local playwright. The play is about 3 people's lives being torn apart by the older brother's spinal cord injury. I play the fiancee to a man who has become paralyzed in a car accident; a woman determined to make the relationship work despite her love's disability. With such delicate and serious subject matter, I feel it my absolute duty to research this condition and speak to actual people who live with SCI so that I might do justice to this story that will certainly be performed for some of those touched by this subject. I am not sure where to begin looking for people who might be willing to speak to me either through email, phone or even in person about how this disability has effected their lives. Any information or advice you could offer me in this pursuit would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
