As quadriplegic, we are a minority within the disabled community. A
member regardless of any other group we belong(ed) to.
It is a minority which binds us together, regardless of race, creed,
gender, or monitary class. In a way, we are a minority in which all
other social barriers are meaningless. The commonality of our
condition strips away the barriers affecting the temporarily able
bodied.

Yes! You are a member of the handicapped community and part of a minority
that has a small lobby in Washington DC. Most minorities are majorities in
comparison to us. We still deserve the same rights as do any other minority
but it is important that we chose our fights carefully since many people
resent loosing the best parking places to us. I have met people that think
the ADA went way to far and should be stripped or completely killed. We are
blamed for high taxes, run away health care costs and ruining the public
school system.
Whatever you thought you were before, you are now a liberal, unless you got
a huge settlement and now resent paying taxes to support those crippled
leeches that are ripping the guts out of our military spending and delaying
the construction of another aircraft carrier just to install curb cuts and
support medicare.
GW Bush wants churches to take over much of the care that is being cut. I
went to a Benny Hinn get well or go to hell concert and I must not believe
in God the way I'm suppose to because I'm still numb and in a wheelchair and
I've either offended God or sold out to satan.
Since then I joined a church down the street that lets me borrow their van
for doctors appointments if I ask a week in advance and find a driver in the
congregation over 23. It was only meant to get people from nursing homes to
the church, but I sweet talked them.
Yes, we are a minority.

DO YOU THINK BY HAVING A SCI MAKES PEOPLE WITH SCI A MINORITY?
