Yeah, we did the adjustment thing, but unfortunately for me when we built the house I was on a major budget, and I didn't buy a really good sliding door. Because the house is made of ICF blocks (insulated concrete forms), which gives me the superior insulation-R. 40-it is a minor nightmare to replace the sliding door. So I am going for a front door opener. Just what you get for being cheap, I guess :-) Joan

Maybe contacting your manufacturer or someone knowledgeable about the door's and inquire if it is adjustable. I can make a difference and sometimes when you adjust them they resort to their previous difficult condition and need to be adjusted again. I think the adjustments are on the bottom and the top of the door. I think the one in my door are screws that can be adjusted with a screwdriver. Hope this helps... However, a friend of mine has a different style sliding door, which is not as heavy as mine, and it works great -- go figure! You once mentioned you wanted a door opener, I have a DoorMate & would not recommend it for my dog because it is a piece of JUNK!!! Lindaf
