I am also waiting for the day when I can stay in my wheelchair. I will not be flying before then, and maybe not after, but who knows. :-) My other biggest obstacle will be easy and affordable transportation once I get to my destination! My comfortable van will not fit on an airline! The nerve of them! I'd rather be slightly inconvenienced and be able to stay in my chair while flying than do what the major airlines require of us quads. I've flown across this country 3 times and each time the experience was worse than the one before. I vowed I would never fly again rather than put my body and mind through such indignation. I think there's a real need for this type of service and there are a lot of us quads out there that would eagerly use this service - 'Build it and they will come .
Dan Hey Dan, you are preaching to the choir on this subject. I want to remain completely positive on personal travel as I witness it almost daily. They new generation of wheelchair travelers often think that there is nothing they have to do exception make their reservations on the internet and everything will naturally fall into place. Most, well planned, air trips work out very well and I know several Quads that travel monthly on business. I'm sure that you and I will agree that planning is everything.
