I think that is so cool of you. You have probably prevented an unknown number of incidents by testifying to people. It is courageous to get up and talk to people but your helping prevent untold damage. You certainly have my respect and congratulations. Keep up the good work. john -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Sent: Thu, 15 Mar 2007 1:07 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] Poll
I was a victim to gunshot by an x boyfriend also. Just like many of you here we survived the first few months and the why me stages. I was only 17. But I knew I was here for a reason. I speak on crime victims behalfs, center for battered women. I go speak too criminals & officers of how this incident affected my life. I go speak to jr. & high school students about abusive relationships. Anyone that will hear my story I'm telling it. So my satisifaction is knowing that some where down the line I have helped someone somewhere with my testimony of survival. I was awarded here in my community for reaching out to so many others. You talk about realizing that my life might be different in a chair, but the feeling of helping someone else survive is awesome. I had heard of this before but never talked to anybody that experienced. I bet you could write a story about that for other people of the signs so it doesn't happen to them. How did you get through this. Dana My estranged husband shot my with a 357 magnum, severed my spinal cord at the C4-5 as I was returning home after surgery. After shooting me he killed himself. It's sad & a waste of life. This was Nov 7, 1987. AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Never miss an email again! Yahoo!
