I had a friend that passed after getting a nice chair a few years back and I
was given the trust to get rid of his belongings. Ater talking to several local
charities I got his stuff to people that needed it. Priests and ministers don't
mind writing fair reciepts.
I hate to see awesome chairs go to folks that use the motors for a science
project they don't finish. Check and see if some illegal could use it to take
trash out at the center for independant living.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Donate Chairs

I have 2 chairs I’m trying to donate, but not having much luck.
Anyone in the AZ area who can use them… Free

1. Invacare Arrow, about 10 years old, tilt/recline, power legrest, needs
batteries and air in tires.

2. Permobil Chairman, about 6/7 years old, tilt/recline, power legrest, seat
elevator, needs batteries and has a crack in the frame. My chair shop would not
weld for liability issues, but Permobil says they have a fix.

First I was trying for a Tax right off. But to get a high value now (something
like over $500) your supposed to get a letter from the place on their
letterhead, plus an expert to give a value to them. I could not find any place
close that wanted them. Only 1 place, but it was for-profit place. I just know
I had to pay lots of money to get my chairs fixed over the years (20% co pays).
Someone must want them for parts at least.
Let me know soon, or they go to the for-profit shop…

Greg, Chandler, AZ
