Dear CAMR Member,
CAMR has been working closely with House leadership since the passage of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (S. 5) in the Senate on April 11, 2007. As you know, S.5 is slightly different than the bill passed by the House in January (H.R. 3) and requires approval by the House before it can be sent to the President.
We have learned that the House intends to bring up S. 5 for a vote following the Memorial Day Recess, possibly on June 6th or 7th. We need your help to ensure that this bill passes the House by a strong majority.
Here is how you can help:
Call your Representative’s district office and ask if the Representative will be in the district during the Memorial Day Recess (May 26 – June 3). Ask for a meeting or make plans to attend an event also attended by your Representative to request a yes vote on S.5. This is a great time of year for parades or county fairs; look for opportunities to see your Representative in a public forum where you can discuss the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act.
The telephone number for your Representative’s district office is:

Thank you for everything you do. We will provide more information about the House vote as things evolve.
Sincerely,
