Everyone,

I ask you to please vote on Sat, May 12 to support a very important amendment.
When
our brillant state gov't reduced the school tax for homeowners in 2005, they
overlooked the cap that is automatic for seniors and the disabled. So the tax
cut
that all other homeowners will recieve WILL NOT apply to seniors or disabled.
The
state gov't had to write an amendment to include them in this tax cut. In order
for
this new amendment to pass, it has to be voted in. BUT there has been LOUSEY
coverage of it, (which I think it's criminal)....so....if I can get you to pass
this
on to others and to take 20 mins out of your Saturday to vote, you will make me
very
happy and you will be doing good work. If you need help finding your voting
location, let me know and I will get to work finding it. This applies the the
entire state of Texas.

This is the amendment as it will appear on the ballot.

                    Constitutional Amendment
                                Proposition 1
                                   (SJR 13)
"The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide
for a reduction of the limitation on the total amount of ad valorem taxes
that may be imposed for public school purposes on the residence homesteads
of the elderly or disabled to reflect any reduction in the rate of those
taxes for the 2006 and 2007 tax years."

Thanks,

Liz
