Post Surgery Scaring
One year ago I had a 7" incision which quickly became infected, thus the staples were removed. And I still do wet to dry dressing changes. Odd is it hurts almost more now than last year. Dr. says scars just hurt, can that be true? It is located about one third of the way up from the base of your penis to your belly button. The tube that carries away the urine is soft and very flexible. It is held in place by a balloon which is located near the tip of the part of the tube that is inserted into your bladder. Changing it is very easy. You deflate the balloon with a syringe that you screw onto a part of the tube. Slide the tube out. Lubricate the tip of your new tube with KY jelly. Slip it into the opening - It goes in about an inch and a half. Inflate the balloon with a syringe that comes with the changing kit. I tell my PCAs it's like changing a belly button ring. I've had mine over two and a half years and never had a mishap as there is nothing that can really go wrong. Would a user have an idea how far their folly was inserted to super pubic? Has any user had a mishap having one changed? Thank You, Merrill
