I started the process of getting a new chair about 3 1/2 years ago and finally gave up when they could not get the Invacare they ordered for me to fit me properly. It is just darn near impossible to get the Invacare vendors to do what they say they will. I have also given up on the idea that Peachtree will come out with a headdress that is close to the one be used to produce. I happen to see a young man driving a Permobile using a chin control (with one of those new, less cumbersome bibs) and he was able to function real well. The reason I paid attention to him is because he is extremely active like I am and has about the exact same return.
Since I have come to the realization that I will have to go to a different drive system (no more Peachtree), I am leaning toward the new small chin control with the bib. I have heard that Permobiles bounce around in the van almost uncontrollably. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? The young man I talked to said he didn't have that problem, but he may just be accustomed to it. I used to think it was normal for me to bounce around in my Van, but I later learned that if I sat upright (that is of course if my blood pressure would let me) I rode much more comfortably. Thanks for the input. Quadius
