Thats the sweet sound of electro-mechanical braking that your chair does to
keep you from rolling off. I find the sound reassuring myself. Put the manual
wheels on your chair and push is the only way to stop that sound, otherwise.

Subject: [QUAD-L] the powerchair 'CLANK'

Does anyone have a powerchair that does not have the loud metal clank sound
when activating the motor or coming to a stop? My chair is a Quickie 525 and
the clank has always been rather irritating.
