  TM is transverse myelitis. It is an inflamation of the nerves in the spinal 
cord ,which produces lesions on the spinal cord, and leaves a person paralyzed 
from the spot of the lession down. About 1/3 of those affected recover almost 
totally, about 1/3 have some recovery and about 1/3 have no recovery, I'm one 
of those with no recovery. This is probably not a very good explanation, but 
you get the general idea.
