I wish that I had more info on the subject, but from where I sit... it
doesn't look good for those who require good mobility equipment. Oh, there will
 be
equipment available, but at what price? Mom's and Pop's will close their
doors with the larger overhead and when you have a question or complaint with
the supplier of your product... it may be a much longer distant telephone
call. Money will still be made, but it won't be as much.
I wish I knew more but only time will tell. And as I do, I will share with
all.

It does make it sound as though there is some bribes coming in late. The
waiver program has asked for bids ever since 93 and it has really only kept
prices in line. The DME's all know what each other will bid. It has forced
small
providers into partnerships to compete. I think this helps the argument for a
government operated health care system. The rich folks can still have
insurance and private hospital rooms but its getting damn ridiculous when sick
Americans are afraid to see the doctor because they can't afford the copay, if
not the entire payment. What are we going to do when doctors and hospitals
refuse to bid on CMS contracts. This is like asking congress to vote on a pay
and health-care cut for themselves.
