I live in Missori and went through the whole Voc Rehab process. They tell me
spinal cord injury victims are a bad risk for them to pay for anything because
very few actually attain gainful employment.

In the instances they will pay for anything you must pass their mental eval
test, let them insult you......then they tell you the whole line that they are
not about transportation, recreation or anything else......Their sole purpose
is to get persons injured back to work....the more people they get back to work
, with the least amount of money is the game they play.

Sure their is an exception to every rule, and their are quads that walk, but
thats the system. I found a way around Voc Rehab........I made sure I was
broke...hint, hint, then applied for a pell grant....then the state pays and
you can take as many or as few classes you want with nobody insulting or
pressuring you. I saved some money and bought my own van that I have been
driving for over 4 years.

I was tired of the wheelchair vendors screwing me to so I bought a Quickie 2
wheelchair 5 yrs ago, and stockpile the parts I need from ebay and sportaid and
can keep my chair going for 20 yrs if need be. I was fooled b4 the quickie and
bought a TI sport, had to kiss butt for the parts and realized the chairs these
vendors suggest are more than likely not the best chairs.....but the chairs the
vendor makes the most profit of off.

This was kind of a rant but im tired of disabled getting taken advantage of.
Everybody gets rich off the disabled when the disabled are the people that need
a break. We need a cure for paralysis, but we need alot more worse than
that.......we need someone to mandate all these rip offs, and make all these
organizations accountable for what they do. ......
