I use a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse with a compaq tower and
flatscreen. Speakers and microphone don't work very well, but 2001 is when the
first files went on it so I'm gratefull it works.
I've had infections since day 1. I take anti biotics using my own judgement and
I've found my system can deal with infections that are much worse than doctors
would normally allow. The plus side is that I'm not always in an anti biotic
funk and drugs work well when I finally take them. I use external condom caths
so I don't get many infections that I would get with indwelling caths or
intermittant cathaterizations.
I have AD from pain several times a month, sometimes several times a week. Full
blown seizures about once a month. I usually sleep about 4 to 5 hours after a
siezure. I cant help but be jealous of you having a girl to hold you while your
having a siezure. It is so lonely and may always be your last.
I should menton that I didn't just ruin my spine at C-5, I had broken legs and
hip and pelvis and fingers and wrist and ankle and yup, skull too. TBI with
lots of memory loss and had short term problems with speech therapy and all. I
don't remember much from before I was run over.
Sex is up to you. I can't say I feel what I'm suppose to because my body
doesn't produce the cool hormones it needs for me to scream and annoy the
neighbors. Maybe viagra would have helped back when I wanted someone to love.
After 32 years I'm in way too much pain and I'm fine with an aid I can talk to.
I may have lost what it takes to feel the right emotions. I don't remember what
my girlfriend said we did and she was so hurt when I didn't remeber her. I
haven't been able to have a mature relationship with anyone and it only
frustrates me to try. I'm pretty sure its hard for the women I've tried with
too. In fact, too hard for me to pretend. I use to go to the brass ass when the
mood strikes me because they are often pros. Some others on the list may be
more help.
If you have a wife, gf or significant other and you think you might love them,
my advice is to do whatever you can to keep them. I cant begin to tell you how
much I envy people with someone they adore.
Make yourself go out! local parks, Zoos, bars. I have a local access buss I
call a day before and go to a park or anyplace that seems it mat be
interesting. kill a few hours untill they return to take you home. Hell, go
visit folks at local hospital.
Living is a word used loosly by many able bodied people. According to some
folks crackheads and meth addicts are living. Several doctors have greeted me
with, "You're still alive?".
I just tell them "No, you are hallucinating."
I have a splint on my left hand and I hit keys with my thumb. Use the sticky
keys feature on your operating system to get caps and other features.
Yes, I had a TBI.
If your not thrilled with your nerve damage then you are normal. Nobody looses
this much ability and just goes on like nothing happened. You need a shrink and
so does your gf. (get an aid, family can help in emergencies but its too hard
on anyone to help you forever.)Remember, she lost a lot too. If you haven't
done so, start being kind to folks because you can get a fatal infection at
anytime. You don't want folks remembering you were a grumpy fart.

P.S. Thats just my experience and we are all different. I don't know if thats
any help. It is ok to say you feel fine since most folks can't help you when
you feel bad anyway. Its your second chance at life, make it count.
