Hey all, I went to the neurosurgen after I had my CAT scan at Hopkins.
Everything looks good. I figured out why I can sit in a long sitting position.
Well I was told. My spine is fused in several different places. Even above
my injury level. He showed the results to me on his computer and I am missing
T 4,5,6,7,8 10,11 and 2 in my lumbar area. I cant remember which ones. I
should have written it down. Basically my spine doesn't bend pretty much at
all. It didn't affect my level which is T 7 at all that I can tell so I'm
pretty grateful.
I am still waiting for my extra hours to be approved since the beginning of
aug. My mom wouldn't be able to catch me if I lost my balance and I am not
able to transfer on my own at this time. So much rehab is still needed and I
can finally work on it 100% since he lifted all of my precautions. Its been
hard to not put my hands over my head or trying to be so very careful moving
myself. I can finally do the pullies to work on my triceps.
My wound finally healed and there was a CAT scan of that as well. The
neurosurgen said hes just a spine doc but cant see any problems as far as he
can tell. I just dont get why it still hurts.
The sad thing is I was going to be given a regular bed but had to refuse it
because I cant sit up so I have to keep this stupid hospital bed that I hate so
I can put pants over my feet which is still a big pain and too small. I am
grateful that my whole spine isnt metal and can still use my arms as I could
before.
