They won't really do any surgwery unless the bone dies and becomes infected. A
calcium supplement and some sunlight. I have the same stupid thing below my
right knee. I have two rare earth magnets strapped to my leg on either side but
it doesn't seem like anything is happening. Be sure not to restrict blood flow.
As a quad things like bones don't heal well. I grow bone in places I don't want
and can't use it. In fact I have had surgery to remove bones protruding thru
the skin on my back, hip and knee. Bones that broke 32 years ago never healed
like a normal person's bones. Gently massage your leg a few times a day so the
circulation stays good.

My leg did that twist fracture going through a doorway. I didn't see it and
couldn't feel it. Now I have actual "foot" plates on my wheelchair. What is on
most chairs is a heel plate. Get a piece of metal the size of your foot and 4
short bolts and bolt it to the heel plate. It may mark up some doorways but it
beats that leg fracture

good luck,
john

Subject: [QUAD-L] Leg fracture

I wonder if anybody out there has had experience with a spiral fracture of the
tibia/fibia? I broke mine about seven weeks ago and there's been no sign of
healing. No attempt by orthopedics was made to reduce the fracture and x-rays
taken just last week have shown no bone growth and the separation of the bones
is still the same.

I've been pushing for some sort of surgery, but haven't had much success.
What's been your experiences?
