Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. and Mark Leder are building their new home
and garden, the Universal Design Living Laboratory, in metropolitan
Columbus, Ohio. This house is more than their personal residence. It
will be a national demonstration home!
Since Rossetti's spinal cord injury in 1998, this couple has been
dreaming of a new home that would provide accessibility,
independence, safety and comfort. So far, they have partnered with 87
international, national, and local corporations and organizations to
help them with this project. More sponsors and partners are needed
before construction begins May 1, 2008. The home is serving to
educate builders, architects, designers and consumers about the
features and benfits of universal design, green building and healthy
home construction practices. Rossetti and Leder will be applying for
LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, as well as
applying to be registered as a Health House with the American Lung
Association.

to the public upon completion and ticket sale proceeds will go
towards spinal cord injury research at The Ohio State University. For
