They have caps that can close off the cath.

I do it when I need to get a urine sample. Plus the doc said it's good to
let your bladder fill up now and then to keep it stretched out.

It's just a cone shaped plug.

I am extremely active so I'm trying to reduce my "drag" to a minimum. I've
worn a legbag for about 3yrs now and I find that it shifts anytime I move in
my chair, transfer, and/or try to get close to a woman on a couch. It just
seems to me that if one's bladder can hold an average amount urine and they
have the hand function to drain it that it would be best for their renal
function to just use a valve instead of a bag. I'm going to talk with my
urologist about it. Once the bladder shrinks is it possible to stretch it
back out?

I have included a link which shows my urine bag and the cover. I had this
made by someone that knows how to use a sewing machine. If you're
interested, just take a look.

I've never tried a valve , would it go at the end of tube then need drained
every so often? I have always used the large size bed-bag and drain it
every morning and each night at bedtime. I hang the bag on the side of my
chair, with the urine showing side turned in towards me and I keep a black
leather pouch type carrier hanging over it that helps cover it pretty much--
in that I store my I.D. cards money and so on, Also that leather carrier
helps to hold the bag on and in place while driving around and reclining . A
friend showed me A cover some people use to store the urine bag in, if a
person is bothered by it---some even have cloth matching covers for the
urine tube going to the catheter bag. Dan H.

Does anyone use a valve at the end of their indwelling/supra catheter as
opposed to a catheter bag?
