I moved from the Northeast to Southern Arizona in June of 2001. I absolutely love the heat here! Last winter was a colder one than usual but this one is a little bit better. It has been sunny every day for abt 6 days in a row now and today's temp was 63°. The forecast is the same but it says 65° every day. it feels very warm when you are directly in the sun if there is no breeze or wind.
It is amazing however that the desert "can" get/feel so cold. It is different from other areas of the nation because overnight here there can (and usually) be a drop of 30° or more which is not typical of the Northeast or the East and other places. I hope I never have to move to any place that gets as cold as the Northeast again.
