Mine is a little terrier that has slept with me for 12 years (not anymore). She
completely removed my right heel - to the bone. I wore a wound vac for 2
months. It was nasty but is just about well now.

Iwillis,I am so sorry to hear that, somehow I missed that William. Your name
is William, forgive me if I have the wrong name. You know I had a problem with
my new puppy she chewed on one of my fingers, but it wasn't badly injured
although it really scared me. I was going to the wound care Center and there
was a patient who's puppy had chewed off a toe I think. What happened to your
dog that was doing this and what kind of dog? Zoe is a 5 pound female
Yorkshire terrier, that is now four years old. Never did it again, but I was
careful to wear my night splints when sleeping . I don't know if the patient
was diabetic, but I don't think a quad or para. She likes to look on my
fingers and toes like she's giving me a bath all the time. Thank God she is
never tried to chew on me again. I was the only thing she ever chewed on that
was injured. She never destroyed shoes, clothing or furniture.

I feel so sorry for that man and for you. Did it hurt you with wearing shoes
have been your heel chewed. I wonder what gets into these dogs when they chew
on human limbs , I guess they don't know that we are not a toy, since we don't
react.
It will be interesting to hear anyone else's experiences.DanaIn a message dated

An article in the Lexington (ky) paper this week is about a poor quad whose new
puppy chewed off 4 of his toes during the night. He is in St. Joseph's
hospital. Some of you might recall the same thing happened to me back in July,
only I lost a heel. I believe the quad zone and the twilight zone are in the
same neighborhood!
