I lived in the same place (northeast) for 35 years. I didn't know anything
different from my own little surroundings all those years. Now, after
moving twice since and including here (southern AZ) on the other side of the
nation... it is amazing how naïve one can be about virtually everything!

When we were considering Arizona from the Northeast... all I could think of
was "I don't want to live where there is just rock and dirt... no green."
Waaaaa, Waaaaa.

Now that I am over here... the warmth, the most glorious sunsets I've ever
seen, the uniqueness of the desert, the history of the area, etc. Etc. etc..
. there is enough green here to roll over any thoughts of thinking I would
have missed anything! I was cold and miserable 70% of the year in the
Northeast and lived for the summers. Besides... The Northeast is only green
for a very short period of time. And then it is either blah, drab, cloudy,
rainy, etc. etc. etc. etc.. July August and most of September are the best
months. Because sometimes June does not warm up. Here it is guaranteed!

I think Ron has hit the nail on the head. You spend 30 years in one place
and you find all your lost socks...shhhh..yup, hard to leave.

i live in st. louis and admit i dont like the snow and cold.at least the
cost of living here is reasonable and most everything needed for quad life
is nearby.i have the funds to move elsewhere but nobody to go elsewhere with
lol. the quads that can move anywhere they please are truely blessed, i
think the majority just deal with what they are given and stay in one place.
