You are 100% correct!  My husband and I could not agree with you more and
we are not going to VISTA until Microsoft has a sneaky way of making people
do so.

if you are going to VISTA 'just because',  don't.   many peripherals don't
have vista drivers.   i lost use of my scanner.  all peripherals will need
to be 'reloaded'.  your computer file system becomes much more 'secure' -
even you get locked out of many places like downloaded Internet files.   i'm
using FP-2003  SP3.  i'm not sure of FP 2000.  If you can, load VISTA
without destroying your old OS.  There will be a boot screen that asks which
OS you want to use...  good luck.
