Dear Veranda, Gall Stones would fit your description. The possibility of a painful syrinx is certainly a good guess. Intestinal problems can spring to life at anytime. Your gender can be the source, also. Women often have trouble and even those that aren't suffering from a spinal injury can endure a lot of pain before doctors search for problems with reproductive organs and glands. An Ob/Gyn may be helpful. If you see a physiatrist annually, it would be a good time to describe your problems with him/her. Physiatrist = rehab Dr. These guys keep studying us as we age and often are the best to see first. It is impossible to say what your problem is with only a paragraph to go on. Often, over the counter pain meds like Aleve, or tylenol are very effective. Do let your doctor know if you take them and get relief.
