Having a service dog is great in many ways. True they can give independence
and always a social life, You need support ideas to every one of the dog's
daily needs. True your care is understood to involve the dog's care.
Before considering a dog be sure you do have the basic needs of the dog
covered.

My first dog and I had a good system. My second dog much had changed but I
have had incredible luck. I nearly could not care of her on four occasions.
It was hell when I valued her care which I could not do. Well we are
together still only because help came. Good luck is not a support plan.

Do not think a service dog is a dog you like with a cape on.

Eric,
Do you have any movement below your neck? I would love to have a dog, but I
really don't have a way to walk it when I am alone. Just curious.

How did you all get your dogs? I found one program but it takes 4 or 5
years and have to go stay in a hotel in Baltimor for a week for the
training. That is not possible for me but could really use a dog.
