Dear Barbara, It is hard for most people to understand, but if Urologists had a personality they would be OB/GYN's. So, ask Doc Charming, when he's done pretending he is House, could he give you a prescription for Ditropan. Increase your own dosage if you still get spasms. Make sure you have blood pressure meds because a full bladder can send you into stroke territory. I take Atenelol, but I have heart problems and you must take this daily. There are meds from the 50's that slam your BP down while you correct the cause. I just take another Atenelol. The old meds (if I could remember the name I'd die happy.) are great if you don't have chronic hypertension or heart problems. My point in saying this is that you don't want to take meds that mask your problem.
Best of luck and Happy Easter, john ----- Original Message ---- From: Barbara Vedder <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, March 22, 2008 6:22:00 PM Subject: [QUAD-L] Bladder control - using a suprapubic catheter Bladder control - using a suprapubic catheterHi y’all, I’m new to this group list and have been reading over emails sent out for the last few days and I have a very important, urgent question. I’ve been quadriplegic for nearly 27 years and recently had my plumbing changed from an indwelling Foley catheter to a suprapubic catheter. I’ve been experiencing a lot of problems with this and could use a bunch of good advice or information from others about this. The biggest problem I now have is incontinence from the urethra (where the Foley came out of me). Has anyone out there had similar problems and, if so, what did you learn or do to try regulating your system? The surgeon who worked on me is a total asshole and doesn't’ provide help or guidance at all. I need help. Thanks, Barbara ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile.
