the air in your stomach may or may not be associated with the morphine. I was
taking morphine before(haven't since June last yr) and use to need to burp a
lot from time to time. It still hapens now though. In my case I don't think its
gas because my stomach isn't upset. My theory is that when they put the trach
in it lefttmy throat a little irregular inside and it causes me to swallow a
little air each time I swallow. It builds up after awhile. I notice that after
I burp I need to take some deep breaths and I think the air in my stomach has
risen to the top and was impinging on my lungs and so I need to breath deeply
afterwards. Just a theory but there are a number of factors that lend to it.

That would seem logic as if waste remains in your system, its likely to
grow or expand... producing gases, or methane. Morphine is a very
productive drug, but that is one of the negative effects.

    Has anyone drawn the conclusion
that stomach gas, burping and pain is caused by morphine? Seems to me it
  might be so.
