Hi, I used to love river float trips and did those after being a quad in the
1st 3 years---but after that time I got a supra-pubic and some said the river
water getting in there might cause an infection-----I am not sure, and my last
urologist had no idea on that subject. I have not been swimming or on float
trips in over 7 years, I sure miss that. I was thinking......... as often as i
get UTI's anyway's-- it may not hurt to try it.

I have a supra catheter and use my pool every summer (to float around
in since I can't do much swimming :-( ) and have never had to "plug the hole
well." I do keep my daily bandage and tape on it, but nothing special, and
then of course have to change it (the bandage) when I get out of the pool.
I've never had any problems with the catheter from being in the pool.
Hope that helps... happy swimming!

I've heard it's alright to go swimming with a supra tube as long
as you plug up the hole well and tape it off. Have any of you
guys gone swimming with a supra?
